Anfield Exercise
Anfield, home of the Mighty Reds
The stadium, built in 1884 has hosted its fair share of historic fooball matches and has seen many a title winning team run out on to the pitch. Since September, 2016, the capcity stands at 54,074 after the Main Stand was expanded. The stadium's record attendance still remains at 61,905 dating back to 1952 for an FA Cup tie with Wolves.
The Spion Kop
Anfield is home to one of the most iconic football stadium stands there are. The Spion Kop, named after a hill in South Africa where British soldiers fought during the Boer War in 1900 is part of football folklore. Over the years, the Kop has been extended, knocked down and rebuilt but one thing remains. The atmosphere. The noise generated by the fans and the swaying was famous world wide where fans sang songs about Liverpool and it's players.
